Mary Ann Lawson - Bio
Mary Ann Lawson was born in Indiana during the Post War American Baby Boom. She discovered her creative talents at a young age in a family that encouraged expressive intellectual pursuits and the pioneer spirit. A self-made entrepreneur, she owned a successful string of nightclubs and restaurants for over 30 years. During her many years as a business owner she would find time for herself in creative endeavors during the long winter months, and during the spring and summer in her gardens. The exhibition this summer showcases some of this work and explores the ideas of season, psychology, form, tradition and classical still life.
