IS: Fine Art & Design Trunk Show Featuring - Kary Kjesbo

IS: Fine Art & Design was proud to announce our first Trunk Show featuring designs by the amazing Kary Kjesbo.  

Kary's work is an ever-changing collection of unique vintage found objects. Her most recent inspirations are focused around utilitarian objects, converting antique shoe clips, and men's regalia into modern women's fashion.  

The gallery space was brought to a new level, heightened by Kary Kjesbo's uncommon yet extremely individualistic found objects which are incorporated into her jewelry designs. The Trunk Show event was lovely, as people were filtering in and out of the gallery, drawn in by Kary's distinctive collection.  While we hold a small collection of Kary's designs in house for the rest of the month, we hope to host her designs again for another event in the future. 

First Friday Opening Featuring - BLECHMEKI

On June 2, IS: Fine Art & Design hosted the first gallery event for the artist duo BLECHMEKI. 

Max Blechman and Kazu Umeki of BLECHMEKI are artists with a unique artistic vision centered around photographing vintage, factory made Americana pottery, posed in multiple variations.  Their pieces are completed using a team effort; with Max finding and collecting these unique objects, and posing them in varying compositions, while Kazu completes the piece by photographing the arrangements.

The artists were excited upon entering the gallery space to see their large-scale work filling the walls. 

The many guests that came to the gallery to view BLECHMEKI’s work were entranced by the images seen before them.  The team at IS: Fine Art & Design had a lot of fun with the guests, explaining the ingenious process behind BLECHMEKI’s work. Overall, a lovely time was had by all, aided by the constant flow of drinks from our amazing Bartenders from On the Rocks.

1st Friday Opening Event Featuring Davy Fiveash - "Videre"

On May 5th, we were delighted to host another opening featuring the works of local artist, Davy Fiveash.

For this show, Davy’s work deviated from the spirit of touch and spring, into something more passionate and tantalizing.  This show, titled “Videre” or “to see” was accompanied by works featuring both whimsical sky imagery, and images of men depicted in passionate poses.

The work was well received by the guests as a whole.  This event was not only focused on Davy's work, but was thrown in the spirit of Cinco De Mayo, along with celebrating our founder, Ian Stallings, 41st birthday. Because of this, we had many different guests filtering in and out of the gallery for the rest of the night, so a much wider audience was able to partake in the beauty of Fiveash’s work.

We would also like to extend our thanks to our bartenders from On the Rocks, for providing us with fantastic Margaritas and conversation for the evening.
